Is Surfshark Leaking?
You think
"One subscription, every device protected."
The mirror
Every browser decides for itself what to reveal — each device needs its own check.
Provider detection compares your exit network with the networks Surfshark is known to use. Surfshark may also rent servers elsewhere, so a real Surfshark connection can occasionally read as "a VPN, but not Surfshark". The test runs in your browser and asks a Cloudflare STUN server for your public address — exactly what any web page can do. We don't see, store or log the result.
Testing…
Three checks run in your browser: IP masking, WebRTC and timezone. DNS has its own test.
About Surfshark
Surfshark is based in Netherlands. It states a no-logs policy. Its apps are not fully open source. It supports the WireGuard protocol. These are the provider's public claims and basic facts, not a guarantee.

How to fix Surfshark leaks
Turn on the kill switch
In the Surfshark app's settings, enable the kill switch (or its equivalent) so traffic stops if the tunnel drops instead of falling back to your normal connection.
Restrict WebRTC in your browser
Firefox: about:config → media.peerconnection.enabled → false. Brave: Settings → Privacy and security → WebRTC IP handling policy → "Disable non-proxied UDP".
Reconnect, then re-test
Reconnect Surfshark, make sure it is the connection this browser uses, and run the test again. A VPN only counts if the test says so.
Changed something? Prove it.
Re-run the test after every change — the verdict above updates in place.
Questions about Surfshark
Is Surfshark leaking my IP address?
Run the test above to see your real result. Surfshark can only protect the traffic it carries; a WebRTC leak or a timezone mismatch happens in the browser, outside the VPN's control.
How does this page know I am on Surfshark?
This page compares the network your connection exits from (its ASN) with the networks Surfshark is known to use — 1 verified so far. Surfshark may also rent servers on other networks, so a genuine Surfshark connection can occasionally show up as "a VPN, but not Surfshark".
Does Surfshark prevent WebRTC leaks?
Whether WebRTC leaks depends on your browser, operating system and VPN app settings together, which is why this page tests the real result instead of assuming. Restricting WebRTC in the browser removes the question entirely.
Where is Surfshark based?
Surfshark is based in Netherlands. Jurisdiction affects legal requests to the provider; it has no effect on whether your browser leaks.
